HELLO!

Well today I did another boo-boo in church! For the sacrament song I thought I we were singing page 175 and then the 1st counselor announced, I thought, page 176. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I played page 176 and actually he said page 177 and so people were all confused, but it worked out because the words for 177 are the same for 176 but 177 has a chorus! DON'T GET OLD and senile! I don't know of any great news other than Doug and Mom are having an ongoing battle with the thermostat in her room. She keeps putting it on heat and then it's way hot. I guess she's becoming like Grandma Mac. Randy and Leisa were up at the cabin on Friday and Randy said you still can't get down to the bend....well there is no bend/beach because it's still covered with water. Inside the cabin it is dry, but the outside grounds are all muddy and wet. He said it would be probably 2 or 3 weeks before it would be dry enough to drive on and walk on. That reminds me. We still have campgrounds up here that are closed due to snow. This week we started back to the temple. We got 2 weeks off! I don't know how those little old ladies do it! By the end of my session I am bushed!!!! Friday I helped with the brides. We had about 30 come through during our session but they said next Friday there will be at least 70 weddings! Oh well, I have some very kind ladies to help me do my job! I talked to Rae Ann and she and Brent are busy with their mission. Tomorrow they are taking a Sudanese family to the Days of `47 Parade and then taking them home for lunch. Randy and Leisa and the kids and the 2 exchange students are coming up here for lunch. I don't know about the menu. They may only get Top Ramen. I hope everyone is well! I'm including some pictures from our Nauvoo trip!

Hello....again!

Well...it's been a long time since I updated this! I guess it has because I wrote the last time just before Randy and Leisa and the kids and Tam and I took off for Nauvoo. We all just returned and had a good time. We left on the 8th and just returned today, the 17th!!!! Tam and I have had a 2 week vacation while they cleaned the Salt Lake Temple and Randy has July off so we decided to go! The only bad part was how hot it was! I've never experienced it that hot and so the next time I visit Nauvoo will be in the dead of winter when it is COLD!!!! We also visited Winter Quarters. That is a neat place. That's the first time I've ever been there and the temple is beautiful and the cemetery, where some of our ancestors are buried, is to the rear of the temple! It is so amazing what all the saints had to endure to get here! Did you know that Naham Curtis and Milicent Waite Curtis and two children are buried in the Old Nauvoo Cemetery????? Yes, our ancestors were definitely part of the pioneer movement!!!! We got some good pictures and I'll post them as soon as I get a chance!!!
Does everyone know that Mom isn't going to have her teeth pulled? Her doctor and dentist decided that her health does not warrent her having it done and so we just let them go. I think most of us, myself included, are very relieved.
We have a birthday this week:
HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY GAVAN!!!!!
Well that's all the news for now!!! I hope everyone is well and happy! See ya'll!

HOWDY! HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Last week passed so quickly and I was so tired I didn't blog yesterday! I'm glad I didn't because I got some neat pictures to share. There are a few interesting tidbits:
1. There's a rumor going around that BJ, Char and William are going to be moving to Logan. I know BJ's job is up there and it seems that they'll see more of each other if they move to Logan. Presently, BJ is working for Char's brothers and seems to really enjoy it. Also if anyone sees BJ or Char, tell them that Grandma and Grandpa McMurdie's house is up for sale. They should contact Chad Tilley if they are interested! It would be neat to have the house stay in the family!
2. Randy and Leisa and the Kids and Tam and I are going to Nauvoo. We leave the 8th of July and return around the 16th! We're driving! It should be pretty fun and hopefully we'll get to see some of the sights I've never seen.  Anna, Randy's oldest, will also be practicing her driving so that will definitely be interesting!
3. Doug and Candis' family is over at Bear Lake this week! Candis sent me some photos of Baylor and Thaer, so I'm including them.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th. Mom helped organize a fireworks party and they all sat at the north side of the Living Center and watched the fireworks on Friday! She said they had a very enjoyable time. On a sad note, one of the gentlemen that moved into the center almost the same time Mom did, and was a friend of Mom's, Bud, died yesterday morning. I think that's one of the hardest things about living there. Most of the people who leave the center, leave because they have passed away! I am going up to Logan tomorrow to take Mom for her first fitting for her new teeth. Keep a prayer in your heart that all goes well and she'll be eating steak before she realizes it!
NOTE: As you can tell, my pictures are NOT up to date! Help me out by emailing me pictures of you and your families to mmurdie@allwest.net! I could really use newer pics!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!!

I've just taken the time to look at Doug and Candis' and Neil and Tamara's blogs! I loved them! Pictures galore! It seems like Memorial Day was a hit everywhere and that Zion is definitely growing! It boggles my mind how big Baylor Madeleine and Thair are getting! The pics of Doug and Candis' grandkids are so cute! I just remembered that with the birth of Tobin and Allison's newest, Mom will have more great grandkids than grandchildren. She has 17 grandchildren and as of October we'll welcome the newest McMurdie into the gang!
I went up to visit Mom yesterday! We had a good visit and we also took a drive up to Logan Canyon to the bridge at the top of the road to the canyon. It looked like about 3 or 4 cabins above us the water was spilling over the bank and that there was flooding going on. We didn't go down to the cabin because I'm too dumb to work the lock. Oh well.
Lance Tilley called me the other day and said that the Wadsworth reunion wouldn't be on the last Saturday in June because since they were in charge and no one was able to make it then, they'd reschedule. I don't know when, but I'll post it when I get an announcement!
I don't know of anything new and exciting in the family! We seem to be plodding along and trying to get through each day as well as possible! Happy Father's Day to you all! When you think about it---we've got some pretty amazing fathers in our family. Here are 4 of them:

Summer!

Well, we have not snow and it hasn't snowed for a little over a week, so I am officially declaring that winter is over and SUMMER IS HERE! The trees in our front yard are all out in bloom and they smell fantastic, however, too much of it makes my non-allergies kick up!
There isn't much news that I know of. It seems like everyone in the family is doing well. Rae Ann went up yesterday to be with Mom. They had a great time. Mom is enjoying being out of doors now and taking long walks! Rae Ann said that everyone in her family is doing well.
Paige, Doug and Candis' youngest, has a babysitting job for the summer. It's sort of neat because it's for the same family that Janalyn babysat for. Paige is going to start attending USU this fall. She has a couple of scholarships and is going to major in music!
Randy and Leisa took Anna and Gavan out for a celebration dinner at the Spaggetti Factory last night. They were celebrating Anna's being on the honor roll. They went to the one at Trolley Square. He said that they had a good time!
Well, my dears----I'll close and include a few photos that Candis sent me! They're really cute! Be good and keep your socks up!

These two cuties are Julia Marie and Emma---Kyle and Angie's two girls!
